My name is Katie Collins, and I am a 23-year-old soon to be secondary school music teacher who plays piano, violin and enjoys singing both classical and musical theatre!

 

I achieved a 2.1 in my Bachelor of Music from Queens University Belfast and I have Grade 8 in LCM Jazz recital with a deep-rooted love for blues and jazz piano, having a special place in my heart for Scott Joplin and Billy Joel (both have a surprisingly similar piano style).

 

I love learning new instruments, most recently my little brother has been teaching me the drums, and some of my students have been teaching me the harp and tin whistle. I may be a piano teacher, but I never want to stop being a student and learning new things.

 

I also love musical theatre, with Wicked being my favourite musical of all time, very closely followed by both Hamilton and Grease. I have recently begun singing lessons as I am a sucker for a good choir, either conducting or taking part (I am a very proud alto).

 

I have been a piano teacher for 2 years now, and I love watching the passion for piano grow as pupils learn to love music. I teach all levels, from beginners, to people wanting to progress in grades or even if you just want to learn the intro to the Piano man by Billy Joel or Bat out of Hell by Meatloaf to impress your friends.
