Marissa McKittrick
A few words from Marissa...
Hello I’m Marissa, and I’m a 23 year old singing teacher and classroom assistant with a degree from Ulster University in Language and Linguistics. I absolutely love everything about musical theatre, with my favourite shows being Hamilton and Bonnie and Clyde. I enjoy listening to new musicals to increase my rep and for my own enjoyment. I have also achieved my Diploma in musical theatre with The Musician Academy, and I am pursuing my Grade 8 in Pop Vocals.
I have performed in many shows with a few different companies such as Fusion Theatre, Lisnagarvey Operatic Society, St Patricks Choral Society, Belvoir Players and Ulster Operatic Company. Some of these shows include, Chess, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Sister Act, Beauty and the Beast, The Beautiful Game, and most recently in 9 to 5 in the Grand Opera House These were all being in the ensemble which is the most important in any musical, as a good chorus elevates every show. I also have been featured ensemble in shows like Evita, Grease and a disciple in Jesus Christ Superstar.
I have achieved some main roles such as Narrator in Joseph and The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Lorraine in All Shock Up, Oda Mae in Ghost, Ethel McCormack in Footloose, Sister Margaretta in Sound of Music, Star to Be in Annie, Virtue in Anything Goes, and most recently Dragon in Shrek which will take place during the start of December. I’m also in the middle of rehearsals for The Addams Family which will take place at the end of September in the Grand Opera House, all whilst being their PR Officer as well.
After all these shows I have gathered a lot of experience with musical theatre and the industry and I love learning new things to pass onto my students. I may have a busy schedule, but I always put my students first. I have really enjoyed teaching so far, and seeing the improvements in my students have made me so happy. A good student and teacher relationship is very important to me as I believe they learn the best in a fun environment.
