True musicianship isn’t built by playing alone.

Our Play In A Band Classes give young musicians the opportunity to put the skills they’re developing on their instrument into practice by playing live with other musicians.

Led by two experienced teachers, each class runs for 2 hours, giving students the time and guidance to rehearse songs together, develop their musicianship and experience what it’s really like to play as part of a band.

Students will develop essential real-world musical skills, including playing in time with others, listening and reacting as a group, learning songs and arrangements, communicating with other musicians, developing performance confidence and understanding the role their instrument plays within a band.

It’s also a fantastic opportunity to meet other young musicians, make friends and enjoy the social side of playing music.

Our Play In A Band Classes are designed to work alongside regular music lessons, giving young musicians something that individual tuition alone cannot fully replicate: the experience of playing live with other musicians in a band.

You do not need to take lessons at The Musician Academy to join. Young musicians learning elsewhere, with another teacher or independently are just as welcome.

Individual lessons develop your skills on your instrument. Playing in a band teaches you how to use those skills alongside other musicians.
