Hi, my name is Sam Moore and I teach drums here at The Musician Academy.

 

Learning piano from age 10 and teaching myself drums from 12, I have always had a passion for music, especially playing and performing with others. This led me to join the teen Play in a Band class in 2021, where my passion for playing grew, leading me to start drum lessons again in 2022, which allowed me to achieve a distinction in grade 8 drums in December 2023. This dedication has allowed me to confidently extend my skills to teaching the instrument I love to play so much.

 

I enjoy all styles of music, but some of my favourite artists include Stevie Wonder, Chick Corea and Peter Gabriel. If I had to pick a favourite drummer, it would be between Steve Gadd and Bernard Purdie. I also have a keen interest in the production side of music, and I love to experiment with recording and mixing in my free time. I have recorded multiple demos with a band at The Musician Academy and I am hoping to study for a degree in Music and Audio Production.

 

Outside of music, I enjoy art and occasionally find the time to paint and draw. I also enjoy reading, especially autobiographies, and love to watch comedy sketches with my family.

 

You will be pleased to hear that I enjoy teaching just as much as I do playing, and the experience of watching a student grow and develop is a fantastic one. I find it a greatly rewarding process, and teaching has undoubtedly improved my own musical ability. I strongly believe that music is for everyone, and everybody has talent just waiting to be unlocked – whether this is with drums, piano or something else. It’s never too early or too late to pick up an instrument – so why not start now?
